Bringing the Pieces Together 2006
ILLINOIS COMMUNITY EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION
In addition to forging an alliance with these groups and having a regional meeting, we plan to:
1) network ideas for stretching existing resources
2) share ideas about successes, grant writing and possible funding sources
3) help one another to sustain our programs with social capital when the grant dollars disappear.
This conference will bring together groups from Adult Education, After School Programs, 21st Century Learning Centers, Continuing/community Education, Social Service Agencies, Business, Higher Education and Private/Public Schools.

This event will be held April 6 and 7, 2006 at Babler State Park near St. Louis, Missouri.  The Mid-West Regions of the National Community Education Association have endorsed this meeting as an important training opportunity for groups looking to sustain their programs.
We will be meeting in one of the best models of community education in the State of Missouri near St. Louis when we convene at Babler State Park Educational Center.  This is a retreat opportunity as the park has sleeping facilities.  One of the biggest problems this meeting will address is how to build and sustain partnerships that make our community schools and programs become central resource centers.
Nationally recognized author, NCEA Executive Director, Steve Parson; Pam Shelton, NCEA President; Louise Summers,  NCEA Past President; Pat Edwards, former Assistant to the Executive Director at NCCE, local, state, and national political leaders will be present to share their experiences and wisdom on subjects concerning community resources and serving our clients through pending state and national legislation.
