Community Education is a philosophical concept that recognizes that all aspects of community life are important and strives to produce a better quality of life for all community residents regardless of age, socio-economic level or diversity. It provides opportunities for community members, schools, businesses, and other organizations to become partners in addressing educational and community needs.

Community Education is also a process whereby both the needs of the community and the resources are identified. It is the responsibility then of the community representatives to foster the matching of those needs with the available resources. This will enhance the quality of life for all community residents.
Every community has individual and group needs that are unique to that community. Each community also has human, physical and fiscal resources that could be made available to the residents of that community.
